Home Insurance
Our policy provides cover on a "new for old basis" for your contents. We provide new for old cover as standard, meaning we don’t make any reductions for wear and tear.Cover LevelNew for Old
If your home cannot be lived in due to any insured loss or damage, cover is provided towards the costs that may arise for alternative accommodation. In general, most providers can offer cover up to a percentage of the sum insured as the maximum amount they will pay. For example, if the contents sum insured is £40,000 and the insurer provides 20% of the contents sum insured, then the maximum payable for this cover would be £8,000. We provide like-for-like cover for alternative accommodation for up 3 years but no more than £150,000.Alternative Accommodation£20,000 or more
The cover that is provided under Contents insurance is usually “specified perils” which only covers damage to your household contents caused by perils such as Fire, Smoke, Lightning, Explosion, Theft or Attempted Theft, Storm or Flood and Subsidence. We provide “All Risks” cover which means that we cover your household contents and personal possessions against any physical loss or damage, subject to some policy exclusions. Cover is provided both inside and away from the home (anywhere in the world) during the period of insurance.Cover BasisAll risks
This provides cover for damage caused by accident. We define an accident as something which happens suddenly, is unexpected and is either unintentional or has unintended consequences – such as dropping your watch on a stone floor. It covers accidents caused by anyone insured by this policy and by third parties. It applies to your contents, and art and collections – plus your jewellery and watches if you've asked us to insure these for you.Contents - Accidental DamageStandard

We provide cover for all your unspecified valuables up to the sum insured you select and up to £10,000 for your ‘Art and Collections’ as standard.Valuables Inner Limit£30,000 or more
Where cover is availble, most providers will apply a 'single item limit' for each unspecified item that is removed from the home. With our cover you only need to tell us about items worth £15,000 or more, however for bicycles the limit would be £3,500.Single Item Away from HomeSingle Item Away from Home
